Mission:
The SMHS PTO & Foundation for Excellence, in partnership with parents and the community, provides critical financial support to SMHS, to help ensure that every student experiences an excellent education and enriching co-curricular opportunities to prepare all students for the success they deserve, while also supporting the relationships between parents & the school and promoting a sense of community.

Who we are: 
​The SMHS Parent-Teacher Organization & Foundation is an active, all-volunteer parent group whose mission is to support families, teachers & staff by:

1. Raising funds to ensure enriching academic experiences and promising futures for all SMHS students, and fostering communication and connection between SMHS & its families.  
2. Every current parent, guardian, teacher & staff member of SMHS is automatically a member.

What we do:

1. Fund programs and initiatives through the SMHS Foundation for Excellence that support excellence in education for all SMHS students.  
2. Facilitate communication between SMHS and families via meetings, daily bulletin emails and special announcements
3. Strengthen school community & Bearcat Pride by: 

• hosting multiple appreciation events for teachers, staff, administration and volunteers
• encouraging involvement and volunteerism at SMHS
• coordinating a grad night event
